Chapter 120 The Lively Fairy Market
Chapter 120: The Lively Fairy Market
After Liu Yu and his companions left the mysterious fairy island by boat, they traveled for several days before arriving at a bustling place where a grand fairy market was being held.
As soon as Liu Yu entered the market, she was stunned by the scene before her. All kinds of stalls were dazzling, people were coming and going, and the sounds of bargaining were endless.
Liu Yu looked around excitedly and saw a stall filled with all sorts of magical artifacts. He picked up a gourd and asked the stall owner curiously, "What's this gourd for?" The stall owner said mysteriously, "This gourd can put a person inside. Do you want to try it?" Liu Yu was so frightened that he quickly put the gourd down.
Continuing on, they came across a pet stall. Liu Yu saw a small animal that looked like a rabbit but had wings; it was very cute. He asked the stall owner, "What's this little guy called?" The stall owner said, "It's called a Flying Rabbit; it can take you flying in the sky." Liu Yu was tempted and wanted to buy it. But when he asked the price, his eyes widened: "So expensive! Are you robbing me?!" The stall owner snorted, "Take it or leave it."
At this moment, Xu Xian saw a stall selling elixirs. The stall owner was loudly hawking, "Eat my elixir of immortality, and immortality will be no longer a dream!" Liu Yu went over and said, "Is it really that magical? Try one and let me see." The stall owner's face changed: "These are for mortals. I am an immortal, I don't need them." Liu Yu laughed loudly: "I think you're a fraud."
They came to a food stall, where various fruits and pastries emitted an enticing aroma. Liu Yu picked up a pastry and was about to put it in her mouth when the stall owner stopped her: "Pay first!" Liu Yu awkwardly patted her pockets: "Oh dear, I forgot my money." The stall owner said angrily: "You want to eat without money? Get out of here!"
As Liu Yu walked, he came across a stage for acrobatic performances. A deity was attempting to breathe fire, but he misfired and ended up setting his own beard on fire, causing the audience to roar with laughter. Liu Yu laughed so hard he couldn't stand up straight: "That technique is absolutely terrible!"
Next, they came to a clothing stall. Liu Yu saw a glittering gold robe, put it on, and admired herself in front of the mirror: "Don't I look like a god in this?" Xiao Qing couldn't help but retort: "You look more like a nouveau riche."
Just then, a deity rushed by and accidentally bumped into Liu Yu, causing him to fall. The deity quickly apologized, "I'm sorry, I'm in a hurry to participate in a competition." Liu Yu asked curiously, "What kind of competition?" The deity said, "A flying competition, and there's a big prize for the winner." Upon hearing this, Liu Yu became interested, "Let's go take a look."
They arrived at the competition venue and saw the immortals riding various flying vehicles, including cranes, auspicious clouds, and flying swords. The competition began, and the immortals rushed forward, vying for the lead. One immortal, in his haste, fell off his crane; another immortal's auspicious cloud suddenly went out of control, flying erratically everywhere. Liu Yu laughed until tears streamed down his face: "This is too hilarious!"
After the competition, they continued strolling through the market. Liu Yu saw a stall selling calligraphy and paintings; the stall owner claimed to be a calligraphy master. Liu Yu looked at his writing and said, "This isn't even as good as mine." The stall owner retorted, "What do you know? This is art."
As they strolled around, Liu Yu felt hungry. They went to a restaurant and ordered a table full of food. Liu Yu wolfed down his food, but accidentally choked, his eyes rolling back in his head. Xu Xian quickly poured him a glass of water: "Eat slowly, no one's going to take it from you."
After finishing their meal, Liu Yu and his companions left the restaurant. Suddenly, Liu Yu saw a thief stealing a deity's wallet. He shouted, "Stop thief!" The thief was so frightened that he took off running, and Liu Yu gave chase. After chasing him for several blocks, he finally caught the thief. The deity said gratefully, "Thank you, brave man." Liu Yu said smugly, "It was nothing."
As dusk approached, the Fairy Market gradually quieted down. Liu Yu and his companions found a place to stay, preparing to continue their journey the next day.
That night, Liu Yu lay in bed, recalling the various amusing things that happened at the market that day, and drifted off to sleep with a smile.
The next day, they left the market and continued their journey. Who knew what interesting things awaited them ahead…
