Chapter 320: Rest Well
Chapter 320: Rest Well
Pei'er pushed the door open and walked to Lin Wanqing's side: "Princess, are you okay?"
"I'm fine," Lin Wanqing shook her head. "What's going on?"
"I don't know either," Pei'er said, "When the guards were on patrol tonight, they suddenly discovered a group of men in black. The prince has already led people to chase them."
"Men in black?" Lin Wanqing frowned when he heard this. "Could they be accomplices of those people?"
"I don't know either." Pei'er shook her head.
Lin Wanqing felt that this matter was not that simple.
"Princess, you should rest first," Pei'er said, "I will be guarding outside."
"No need," Lin Wanqing said, "You should go and rest too. I'm fine."
"But..." Pearl hesitated.
"Go ahead." Lin Wanqing waved his hand.
Pearl bowed, turned around and walked out.
Lin Wanqing tossed and turned in bed, unable to fall asleep; whenever she thought of those men in black, she felt uneasy.
She didn't know what those people's purpose was, nor did she know if they would come again.
She lay in bed like this until dawn when she fell into a drowsy sleep; but she had not slept for long when she was awakened by a rapid knock on the door.
"Princess, something happened! Something happened!"
Pearl's voice came from outside, with a hint of panic.
Lin Wanqing sat up suddenly, quickly put on her clothes, got out of bed, and opened the door: "What's wrong?"
"Princess, something happened to the prince," Pei'er said, "The prince fell into a trap when he was chasing the men in black last night. He is now seriously injured and is being treated in the study."
"What?!" Lin Wanqing was shocked when he heard this, and without caring about anything else, he ran towards the study.
When she ran to the door of the study, she smelled a strong smell of blood.
Lin Wanqing's heart tightened and he pushed the door open and walked in.
I saw Lu Shengyuan lying on the bed, his face pale and bloodless.
Lin Wanqing felt a sharp pain in his heart and quickly walked to the bed.
"Your Majesty, Your Majesty..."
She called softly, but Lu Shengyuan didn't respond at all.
Lin Wanqing felt anxious and reached out to feel his breath.
Fortunately, he was still breathing faintly.
Lin Wanqing breathed a sigh of relief and quickly took out a silver needle to give Lu Shengyuan acupuncture.
She had to stop his bleeding as soon as possible, otherwise he would probably die from excessive blood loss.
Lin Wanqing's silver needle accurately pierced Lu Shengyuan's acupuncture point, and soon the bleeding stopped.
She took out the medicine bottle again, poured out a pill and stuffed it into Lu Shengyuan's mouth.
Only after doing all this did Lin Wanqing breathe a sigh of relief.
"Princess, how is the prince?"
"The prince is out of danger for now," Lin Wanqing said. "Go prepare some hot water and a clean cloth. I need to treat the prince's wound."
"Yes." Pei'er saluted and walked out.
Lin Wanqing looked at Lu Shengyuan's pale face and felt sad.
She didn't know why he was so badly injured, nor did she know who those men in black were.
But she knew that this matter must not be that simple.
Soon, Pearl brought hot water and a clean cloth.
Lin Wanqing treated Lu Shengyuan's wound and fed him a pill.
"Princess, when will the prince wake up?" Pei'er asked.
"I don't know either," Lin Wanqing shook his head. "The prince has lost too much blood and is weak. He needs to rest well."
"What about you, Princess?" Pei'er looked at Lin Wanqing's haggard face and felt a little worried.
"I'm fine," Lin Wanqing said.
She sat on the edge of the bed, looking at Lu Shengyuan's pale face, feeling mixed emotions.
She didn't know why he was so badly injured, nor did she know when he would wake up.
But she knew that she couldn't leave him like this.
In this way, Lin Wanqing stayed in the study for a whole day, and it was not until the evening that Lu Shengyuan woke up slowly.
"Your Highness, you're finally awake," Lin Wanqing held his hand, her voice trembling with excitement. "How do you feel?"
"I'm fine," Lu Shengyuan opened his mouth slightly, his voice hoarse, "Why are you here?"
"I..." Lin Wanqing didn't know how to answer.
"I'm fine, you can go back and rest." Lu Shengyuan said.
"But..." Lin Wanqing hesitated.
"Go." Lu Shengyuan closed his eyes and ignored her.
Lin Wanqing looked at Lu Shengyuan's pale face and felt sad.
She knew he didn't want to see her now, but she couldn't let him go.
In the end, Lin Wanqing stood up and walked out of the study.
"Princess." Pei'er came forward.
"Take good care of the prince," Lin Wanqing said, "If he needs anything, tell me immediately."
"Yes." Pearl saluted.
Lin Wanqing nodded, turned and left.
She returned to her room, her mind in turmoil.
She didn't know why Lu Shengyuan was so seriously injured, nor did she know who those men in black were, and she didn't know whether he would become as cold as before after waking up.
Lin Wanqing felt like she was about to collapse.
She decided to talk to her father.
She changed her clothes, took Pei'er out of the palace, and returned to her parents' home.
"Dad, I'm back." Lin Wanqing walked into the living room and shouted.
"Qingqing, why are you here?" Father Lin came out of the study upon hearing this and looked at her in surprise. "Where's the prince? Why isn't he here? Why isn't he here with us?"
"The prince..." Lin Wanqing didn't know how to respond, "Dad, I have something I want to discuss with you."
"Go ahead." Father Lin walked to the main seat and sat down.
Lin Wanqing walked over to him and sat down, then told Lin's father about Lu Shengyuan's injury.
"What?!" Father Lin stood up suddenly after hearing this. "How could the prince be injured?"
"I don't know either," Lin Wanqing said, "Dad, haven't you been looking for that miracle doctor Su Yao? Is he willing to help save the prince?"
"The miracle doctor Su Yao?" Father Lin frowned upon hearing this. "I did find him, but he has a strange personality. I'm afraid he won't be willing to help the prince."
"Then what should we do?" Lin Wanqing's heart tightened when he heard this.
"For now, I'm afraid we have no choice but to go and ask him in person," Father Lin said. "I'll prepare a generous gift tomorrow. Come with me to visit him."
"No, Dad, I'll go by myself," Lin Wanqing said, "You're old, you should rest at home."
"How can this be possible?" Father Lin said, "The miracle doctor Su Yao has a strange personality. I'm worried about you going alone."
"But..." Lin Wanqing wanted to say something.
"Okay, this matter is decided," Father Lin interrupted her, "You should go back first. The prince needs someone to take care of him."
"Yes." Lin Wanqing saluted and turned to leave.
She returned to her room, her mind in turmoil.
