Chapter 105 Three Deadly Dogs
Chapter 105 Three Deadly Dogs
The four continued forward, and the door to the next classroom opened wide.
Wasim's flashlight beam cautiously probed in, illuminating a rudimentary and terrifying processing workshop converted from a classroom.
Right in the center of the room, replacing the ordinary school desk, was the enormous "pressurizer" I had seen in the DV footage, made up of writhing flesh and cold metal pipes.
At this moment, it stands silently, like a monster taking a short rest after eating.
The sturdy metal piston was covered in dark brown grime, and several pieces of pale, bluish-gray "meat cutlets" were scattered on the operating table and at the machine's exit.
What's truly chilling is that a complete human finger is embedded in the edge of one of the steaks, with even the outline of the nail clearly visible.
In the air, the distinctive stench of flesh and blood mingled roughly with a pungent spice aroma, assaulting the nostrils.
"Ugh...!" Anna's long-held smile instantly crumbled.
She suddenly covered her mouth tightly with her hand, her throat bobbing violently as she tried to suppress the uncontrollable gagging.
Just as the smile on her face vanished completely, a nearby smiling face that had been slowly drifting around suddenly froze.
That frozen, exaggerated smile seemed to be pulled by invisible threads, and with a "click," it instantly turned towards Anna!
The next second, it let out a sharp laugh, different from its previous babbling, and suddenly transformed into a gray-white shadow, rushing straight towards Anna!
"Watch out!" Evelyn reacted extremely quickly, almost instinctively swinging the peach wood stick in her hand.
The red dragon leaf tied to the top seemed to flash a barely perceptible red light the moment it came into contact with the smile!
A muffled "thud!"
The laughing demon let out a painful shriek, its attack abruptly halted. It tumbled and fell to the ground, the grayish-white shadows on its body fading slightly, and its exaggerated smiling face twisted, appearing even more ferocious.
But it did not dissipate; it struggled to get back up.
Without hesitation, Lin Feng stepped forward, his peach wood stick whistling through the air as he slammed it down on the struggling shadow!
"laugh--!"
This time, the sound was like a red-hot iron being plunged into ice water.
Where the peach wood stick struck, the Smiling Nightmare let out an even more shrill and short wail. Its entire form twisted and shrank rapidly like a piece of burning paper, eventually turning into a wisp of smoke and completely dissipating into the air.
Another laughing beast, slightly further away, seemed to be attracted by the commotion and began to drift toward them.
"Quick! Laugh!" Lin Feng immediately growled to remind him.
Still shaken, Anna quickly tried to forcefully twitch the corners of her mouth again.
The laughing monster drifted closer, its empty "gaze" scanning the four faces, especially lingering on Anna.
Anna's heart was pounding, but she gritted her teeth and forced a smile that looked more like a grimace.
A few seconds later, the laughing monster seemed not to have noticed anything amiss. Its exaggerated smiling face twitched, uttered a few indistinct murmurs, and then slowly drifted away.
The four became even more cautious, continuing along the corridor to the right until they finally stopped in front of a heavy, dark brown wooden door.
The metal sign on the door was rusty, but the words "Archives" could still be vaguely made out.
Unlike the broken classroom doors along the way, this door appeared unusually intact, with even the doorknob looking brand new, as if it had been used frequently.
However, an atmosphere far colder and heavier than anywhere else in the corridor was silently seeping out from under the door, enveloping the four people.
Even the eerie whispers that had always been in the air seemed to have diminished considerably here, as if other evil spirits dared not approach this place easily.
For the first time, the orange cat on Lin Feng's shoulder raised its head completely, its amber eyes fixed on the door, its pupils shrinking into a very thin vertical line.
Although its fur didn't stand on end, a restrained, yet palpable sense of vigilance naturally emanated from it.
"This is it." Lin Feng lowered his voice, his Adam's apple bobbing involuntarily as he recalled Su Wan's warning—
Three-headed dog that's about to die!
The name alone is enough to send chills down one's spine.
Evelyn understood and took a thin, long black hair clip from her hair.
She held her breath and carefully inserted the tip of the hairpin into the keyhole of the old-fashioned door lock.
He pressed his ear almost against the door, listening intently to the faintest mechanical sounds inside.
For a moment, only the suppressed breathing of a few people could be heard in the corridor.
One minute later, with a slight "click" sound, the latch snapped back.
Evelyn nodded to the three people behind her, then pressed her fingertips against the door panel and, at an extremely slow speed, pushed the heavy wooden door open a crack.
A mixture of old paper, dust, and the pungent smell characteristic of some kind of wild animal den wafted out from under the door.
Lin Feng looked at the orange cat on his shoulder, his eyes asking for the next move.
The orange cat's thoughts echoed directly in his mind:
"That thing inside is troublesome. You four stay outside and don't get in the way!"
Lin Feng immediately understood and gestured for Wasim, Evelyn, and Anna to "step back".
Although the three were worried, having witnessed the orange cat's strength, they chose to trust it unconditionally. They immediately took a few steps back, pressed themselves against the wall, and even breathed very softly.
The orange cat leaped lightly off Lin Feng's shoulder and landed silently.
It glanced back at the four of them with sharp eyes, then lowered its body and, like a melting golden shadow, silently slipped through the crack in the door and disappeared into the darkness inside the archives.
The door was gently closed from the inside by the orange cat's tail, almost at the same time—
"Roar—!!!"
A deep, threatening roar, as if from the depths of hell, suddenly exploded from behind the door!
The sound wasn't singular; it had a triple reverberation, causing dust to fall from the door frame.
Immediately afterwards, the sounds of fierce fighting came from inside!
Heavy impacts, the crashing of overturned filing shelves, and the shrill whistling of claws tearing through the air filled the air.
The four people outside the door held their breath, their hearts pounding in their chests, all worried about the orange cat's safety.
However, this battle, which sounded exceptionally intense, lasted much shorter than expected.
After a particularly piercing howl from a dog, the fighting abruptly stopped.
Everything fell into a deathly silence in an instant.
The suffocating sense of oppression seemed to lessen considerably.
A few seconds later, "Squeak—"
The door to the archives was gently opened from the inside.
The orange cat reappeared.
It remained the size of a normal cat, but its steps didn't seem as light as before.
Its beautiful orange fur looked somewhat disheveled, and there was a clear scratch on its left hind leg near its buttocks, from which tiny beads of blood were oozing. There was also a small cut on the tip of its ear, which looked somewhat bruised.
It strode out, glanced at the four tense people, and its unbridled spirit returned, this time with a heavy, panting tone:
"Damn it, that three-headed mangy dog is pretty fierce! It bit me so hard it hurt!"
