Chapter 49 Rescuing Robin

Chapter 49 Rescuing Robin

Although Robin pulled the syringe out immediately, a small amount of blue liquid was still injected into his body.

As the drug took effect, fear gradually eroded Robin's sanity.

Along the way, twisted monsters and hideous faces kept appearing before his eyes, and piercing screams filled his ears.

He sized up the direction and, with the last shred of his sanity, rushed toward the police station.

The cars that were driving normally along the way had turned into monsters with gaping, bloodthirsty mouths in his eyes.

He occasionally encountered one or two pedestrians on the road, but in his eyes they were all hideous and terrifying monsters.

The key point is that these monsters are not a random combination, but rather the image of his deepest fears.

Finally, when he was two blocks away from the police station, he screamed in terror and then crashed uncontrollably into the wall.

With a crisp crash, he finally lost consciousness.

...

"Gordon, Robin's in trouble!"

Although Levi noticed something was wrong and contacted Robin immediately, he received no response.

Fortunately, the products from Wayne Group's technology department are of good quality, and this little gadget can still locate within a certain range.

—There's only a slight delay.

Li Wei discovered that the communicator had stopped moving, and his heart sank instantly.

There are only two possibilities for this situation: either Robin can't run anymore, or something has happened to her...

"I hope Robin is alright."

Gordon looked anxious too. "Where is he? We need to get there and save him!"

Without the slightest hesitation, Li Wei immediately gathered his gear and pulled Goh onto the temporarily "requisitioned" Raptor pickup truck.

It has to be said that this car really suits his taste.

Although it's a pickup truck, it's spacious and offers excellent comfort.

Moreover, it has plenty of horsepower and runs fast enough.

"Hey buddy, buckle up!"

Levi fastened his seatbelt and slammed his foot on the accelerator. "Let's see who really hurt Robin!"

The Raptor pickup truck sped along the road to the signal point like a black lightning bolt.

Because of the rapid start, Gordon leaned back in his chair, his face showing terror.

"Hey...buddy, you might have to slow down a bit."

Gordon turned his head with difficulty to look at Levi, his face filled with horror. "I don't want us to fail to save Robin and end up..."

Before he could finish speaking, Li Wei suddenly turned the steering wheel and made a sharp turn.

Gordon was thrown against the car door by inertia, swallowing the rest of his words.

"Hey buddy, what did you just say? The car was going too fast, I didn't hear you."

Li Wei finally realized what was happening and began to respond to Gordon.

Driving recklessly through the streets of Gotham late at night, the slightest misstep could result in a fatal crash, a feeling that sent his adrenaline surging.

"I'm saying...buddy...we probably need to be careful..."

Before he could even utter the word "safety," Gordon was thrown against the passenger side dashboard due to inertia.

Li Wei certainly didn't do it on purpose; he just saw Robin lying on the roadside and instinctively slammed on the brakes.

However, the pickup truck had too much inertia, and the speed was too fast, so it didn't stop immediately.

The rubber tires left two charred marks on the ground, and the air was filled with the smell of burnt rubber.

When the pickup truck finally came to a stop, Gordon rubbed his head and took deep breaths.

Ignoring his partner, Li Wei got out of the car and jogged towards Robin's location.

As soon as the car stopped, he immediately saw Robin, who was lying unconscious on the ground in a white hospital gown.

After crouching down to check, Li Wei finally felt much more at ease.

Although his breathing was somewhat rapid and his brow was furrowed, as if he were experiencing something terrifying.

But Robin's chest was still rising and falling normally, and apart from a wound on his forehead, no other injuries were found on his body.

Judging from the wound on his forehead and the corresponding bloodstains on the wall, Robin must have run into the wall himself.

"How is Robin?"

Gordon got out of the car and ran over, gagging.

"Your breathing rate is a little fast."

Li Wei said, "Judging from the wound on his forehead, he must have bumped into something. At present, it doesn't seem to be in any life-threatening danger."

"Oh, that's good. Let's contact the hospital first."

Hearing Li Wei say this, Gordon finally felt relieved.

I glanced at the pickup truck parked on the side of the road and made up my mind that I would never ride in this guy's car again.

Just as Gordon made up his mind, he saw two white beams of light pierce through the darkness.

With the roar of its engines, the Batmobile came to a stop at the intersection.

Accompanied by the sound of footsteps, Batman stepped out of the vehicle.

In fact, besides Levi, Batman was also paying attention to Robin's situation on the other end of the communicator.

Therefore, he rushed over immediately after Robin's accident.

They were a little slower than Li Wei and the others only because they were changing clothes.

"How's the kid doing?"

Levi recounted his discovery, and Batman nodded slightly.

Then he crouched down and carefully examined Robin's condition.

"Come on, give me a hand."

After checking the front, Batman gestured to Levi for help, "There doesn't seem to be anything wrong from the front, let's check the back for any other findings."

Levi took off his coat and laid it on the ground, then worked with Batman to flip Robin over.

Just as he turned around, Levi noticed a wet, circular mark on Robin's back.

Fortunately, it didn't rain today, otherwise they might have overlooked this mark.

Batman tore open Robin's hospital gown, carefully wrapped up the piece with the mark, and planned to take it back for analysis.

After doing all this, he began to carefully examine the location of the mark and soon made a discovery.

"There's a pinhole here. Robin probably injected himself with this stuff, which is why he crashed into the wall."

Batman pointed to the tiny needle marks on Robin's back, where the surrounding skin was a pale bluish-purple.

"I suspect this is a psychoactive drug that can induce fear," Levi concluded. "Klein's experiments were probably to perfect this thing."

It seems this thing is very effective; we probably need to be careful.

Of course, not all of what Li Wei said was based on analysis; a large part of it stemmed from his understanding of scarecrows.

What this guy is best at is making these terrifying potions.

"I understand," Batman nodded. "I will analyze the ingredients of the drug and find an antidote as soon as possible."

Li Wei looked up at Batman and nodded slightly.

A police siren blared, and the ambulance finally arrived, albeit late.

When the medical staff got out of the car, they were stunned to see the three people standing together.

Especially Robin, who was lying on the ground, was naked from the waist up, and his clothes had been violently torn in half.

Li Wei felt very uncomfortable being looked at with strange eyes.

However, he felt even more uncomfortable when he noticed the way the two nurses were looking at Batman.

He had no doubt that this guy could get two nurses to throw themselves at him with just a snap of his fingers.

So he and Gordon are the perverts who strip people naked in the middle of the night, and Batman is the savior who turns the tide.

It just goes to show how popular a person is; Batman is just too popular in Gotham.

Aside from lacking superpowers, this guy seems to have no weaknesses.

But upon closer reflection, the power of money seems to be a kind of superpower, or even more powerful.

Several medical staff stepped forward and carefully lifted Robin, who was shirtless, into the car.

Watching the ambulance slowly drive away, Li Wei knew the answer.

A showdown with Klein and Maroney has officially begun.
