Chapter 35. Is You Feng giving orders to the Primordial Saintess? The entire audience was stunned!
"You know her?" You Feng asked, somewhat surprised. How did Qin Xue know that Qin Chuyu was the Holy Maiden?
"I wouldn't say I know her," Qin Xue shook her head, her eyes revealing obvious admiration, "but I've seen her reports and photos in the Western Duel Daily before. She defeated several of the West's top geniuses at the height of their careers in last year's Continental Race, winning the championship."
Her tone was filled with pride: "That was the first time in nearly ten years that an Eastern duelist had won the championship fair and square in a top-level tournament dominated by the West! So, she has long been an idol in the hearts of many young Eastern duelists..."
"It's also the goal I'm trying to catch up with," she added softly at the end, her cheeks slightly flushed.
You Feng understood. So that's how it is. This Primordial Saintess not only holds a prestigious position, but her strength is also formidable; no wonder her fame is widespread.
Arya nodded in agreement: "I've heard about her story too, but I never expected to meet her in person here."
Qin Xue bit her lower lip, her eyes gazing longingly at the white figure in the distance. She hesitated and whispered, "What a pity... If only I could get her autograph."
Upon hearing this, You Feng raised an eyebrow and asked with some doubt, "Then go ask her for it."
"Pfft—" Arya scoffed, "Who do you think you are? You think the Holy Maiden will just give it to you just because you ask?"
Qin Xue gently tugged at You Feng's sleeve and whispered, "It's no use... Everyone says that the Primordial Saintess is aloof and rarely pays attention to these social engagements, let alone to ordinary people like us."
As if to confirm her words, the excited voices of several young men suddenly came from not far away:
"It's the Primordial Saintess! It really is her!"
"Your Excellency! I admire you so much! Could you... could you give me your autograph?"
"Your performance in the competition was amazing! You are the pride of us Easterners!"
Qin Chuyu frowned slightly, seemingly oblivious to the surrounding commotion, and merely gestured to Granny Rong beside her. The old woman immediately stepped forward, her imposing presence causing the excited young men to retreat sheepishly.
Seeing this, Aria pointed and chuckled, teasingly saying, "Hey, see that? This is reality. You have absolutely no idea how aloof the Holy Maiden is."
After she finished speaking, she turned her head and saw that Youfeng had disappeared from her side.
Arya looked around and froze.
Suddenly, You Feng walked straight to the group of young people who had been stopped. Amidst the astonished gazes around him, he casually pulled out a common monster card from his card box and handed it directly to Qin Chuyu.
"Sign your name," he said, his tone as flat as if it were a command.
This move immediately drew uproar and ridicule.
"Who's this? Such a clueless kid?"
"Not even a polite word? That's incredibly rude!"
"I'm afraid I'll just be asking for trouble and get kicked out."
"Is Youfeng stupid...?" Aria couldn't help but rub her forehead and mutter to herself.
However, what happened next made everyone who was waiting to see the joke widen their eyes in surprise.
Qin Chuyu's gaze fell on You Feng's face, which remained calm and expressionless.
But she did not refuse, nor did she ask Granny Rong to stop her. She simply took the card naturally, and then took out an exquisite silver-white pen from her sleeve and smoothly signed her name on the card.
"Here you go." She handed the card back, her voice clear and melodious, and even asked another question, "You really should seriously consider the Primordial Holy Land."
"We'll see," Youfeng said casually, taking the card. "Maybe there will be a chance."
After saying that, he turned around and walked back without hesitation, leaving behind a scene of stunned disbelief and the sound of heartbreak.
"Holy crap?!"
"No way...did he really sign it?"
"Why should I?!"
"Who is this person?!"
Amidst a chorus of incredulous gasps around him, You Feng walked back to Qin Xue and shoved the card with the delicate handwriting of "Qin Chuyu" into her hand.
Here, take it.
Arya was completely stunned, her mouth agape, unable to close it for a long time. What was happening before her eyes was simply beyond her comprehension.
Qin Xue was also stunned, holding the card that still had a faint fragrance in her hand, her heart overwhelmed with great surprise and even stronger curiosity.
"What... what's going on?" She looked at the card, then at Youfeng, who looked completely calm as if he had just done a small favor, and was utterly baffled.
You Feng didn't explain, he just shrugged indifferently.
Just then, Liu Bingbing walked over, carrying several exquisite shopping bags, looking quite satisfied: "Wow, you're all on time."
"Aunt Bingbing!" Qin Xue immediately snapped out of her daze, holding up the card in her hand and sharing with a mixture of surprise and delight, "Look! It's the signature of the Primordial Saintess! And... she really was here just now!"
Liu Bingbing glanced at the signature, not particularly surprised, and simply chuckled, "What's so strange about that? It's perfectly normal for her to appear in this outlying market."
She paused, her smile fading, and her tone became somewhat explanatory: "Recently, it is said that traces of abyssal beasts and giant dragons have appeared in this deep mountain area where the east and west meet. This matter has alarmed many forces, not only the Primordial Holy Land, but also several other holy lands and the major knightly orders in the west, all of which have sent people to investigate."
"The purpose is simply to see if there is an opportunity to capture or tame the legendary abyssal beast spirit and make it our own."
Upon hearing this, Youfeng raised an eyebrow and voiced his doubts: "Isn't it said that elves only choose masters who share their feelings?"
"That's how it is in theory," Liu Bingbing nodded and explained in detail, "but there's often more than one suitable candidate. For example, out of ten thousand duelists, there might be three or five who basically meet a certain Pokémon's requirements for choosing a master, and the Pokémon's final choice is unpredictable."
"Besides," she changed the subject, "there are other ways besides waiting to be chosen. Elves can be influenced by strong beliefs or power, can be tamed by beings of higher rank, and even... in some shady places, they are traded as precious commodities. Therefore, there have never been many people who hunt powerful elves."
"Of course," she concluded, her tone tinged with caution, "to successfully capture a powerful wild Pokémon, especially one of the level of an Abyssal Dragon, is as difficult as ascending to heaven. It requires not only strength but also luck, and even the risk of one's life."
Youfeng listened silently, his gaze fixed on the hazy outline of the distant mountains outside the market, a thoughtful look in his eyes.
