Chapter 7 Training
Chapter 7 Training
The dagger in my hand isn't fancy. It's a simple dagger provided by the academy, nothing special.
As I drew my dagger, I recalled Morse's training methods. Although I had been trapped in the necklace for a long time, I had developed a habit of observing my surroundings to pass the time.
So I know how Morse trains and how his classes are conducted. Sometimes I also catch glimpses of how others train while he's training.
This alone gave me a deeper understanding of my training.
huh~
As I brandished the dagger, I began to ask myself questions.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of a dagger?
After asking and answering my own question, I soon got the answer.
"It doesn't require as much force as other weapons."
The sword is the most popular weapon in the world because it is the most balanced of all weapons. It can be adapted to the characteristics and skills of the wielder, making it the weapon of choice for many. Its length varies from 60 centimeters to 100 centimeters.
Then there's the spear. Unlike the sword, the spear requires relatively little skill from beginners, but its skill ceiling is not as high as that of the sword.
Most people would say that, but if a spearman heard you say that, he might turn on you.
Regardless, the advantage of a dagger lies in its short and precise attack method. Due to its short length, a dagger can generate more force when swinging with the same amount of force, but this means sacrificing attack range.
Therefore, you need to compensate for the lack of distance with speed. This is why most daggers are actually designed primarily for agility. Because without the ability to close the distance, you can't unleash the full power of a weapon.
However, using a dagger also requires extremely high dexterity. Of course, this doesn't mean that knives and guns don't require dexterity. Daggers primarily rely on keen observation and crucial striking capabilities to launch an attack while catching the enemy off guard.
Thinking about this, I recalled the basic dagger techniques I had been learning. In some ways, this dagger set was quite good for beginners and not difficult to master.
I glanced at Ethan's movements, observing how he used strength and center of gravity.
My eyes clearly observed his every move; he slowed down more and more, and he was beginning to get tired.
Whoosh~ Whoosh~ Whoosh~
The dagger flew across the dummy at incredible speed. I began to rehearse my movements in my mind, and my body followed my thoughts.
While paying attention to the positioning of my center of gravity, the timing of my strikes, and the smoothness of my footwork, I continuously practiced the basic movements of the dagger.
I focused on perfecting my dagger techniques. As I performed each move, I felt a constant sense of oneness with the weapon, as if the dagger and I were one.
......
"Ha ha......"
I closed my eyes as I stood panting in front of the mannequin. My arms and legs ached from the constant swaying.
I can feel my body improving and my physical abilities increasing. In the past, I would feel tired after training for an hour, but now my endurance has significantly improved.
I took a deep breath and brought up the status window. It looked familiar, displaying my current progress.

Looking at the changes in the window in front of me, I felt a little gratified.
The reason I was able to achieve this improvement was because the information I observed in the necklace came in handy.
Just then, my stomach rumbled loudly. "Yeah... I'd forgotten I hadn't eaten in ages," I muttered to myself as I tucked the dagger into my waistband.
Let's stop for a while.
With that thought in mind, I quickly took a shower, cleaned myself up, and left the training ground.
Daily life has begun, and I walk through the campus filled with students. The way they walk with smiles and talk to their friends reminds me of her smile.
In the past, I wouldn't have observed them; it would have brought back bad memories and made me feel suffocated. But now, I observe their movements and bodies with my eyes. Although I still feel uncomfortable, I know I can't keep running away like this...
......
Arriving at the bustling cafeteria in the heart of the college, I was enveloped by the lively chatter of students. This was the most popular spot for students, especially at lunchtime. The aroma of food filled the air, tempting my senses.
I spent a little time scanning the wide array of food, searching for something that could both satisfy my hunger and enhance my training. My eyes landed on a dish called 'Snow Swallow Porridge'. It was described as a nutrient-rich dish designed to restore energy and boost physical performance.
This is a public canteen, and the meals are provided free of charge to students, so I don't need to worry about money. I ordered a meal that best suited my needs.
As I entered the cafeteria, I started ordering: "I'd like a bowl of snow swallow porridge and a glass of Moke rye juice."
The young cafeteria worker smiled warmly and nodded in response to my request: "Okay, I'll prepare it for you right away." She answered enthusiastically, creating a cozy atmosphere in the busy environment, and began tapping the screen to prepare my order.
Her smile could melt anyone's heart and make them feel comfortable, but not me, because I could see the faint scars that flashed beneath her sleeves and clothes.
Domestic violence...
The ring on her hand indicated that she and the man were married, but the marks around her finger suggested the ring was frequently removed. She was also trying to conceal the marks under her clothes, and her gaze kept shifting, revealing her unease. A faint scent of herbs wafted into my nose.
To test whether my guess was correct, I quickly raised my hand to scratch my head, and she instinctively flinched, which was enough to show that she had developed an unconscious fear of this action.
"Ultimately, everyone has their own pain in their life." Just as I was thinking this, she said she was ready.
"Here you go, it's ready." When she handed me the carefully prepared meal, our eyes met briefly, though she looked away after that second.
I sat at a corner table, savoring the delicious meal. As I observed the students conversing, my attention quickly shifted to a particular table.
You can see three boys whispering to each other there.
The first person is a guy with blue hair and light brown eyes, chatting with his friends. He is the protagonist, Ethan.
Beside him was a man with light blue eyes and snow-white hair, whose handsome face was comparable to Ethan's.
'Lucas Middleton'
That's his name. He's Ethan's best friend now, and he also comes from a famous hunter family, so they've known each other since childhood.
If the Hartley family is known for its marksmanship, then the Middleton family is known for its swordsmanship.
He is an outgoing person who likes to joke and can ease the atmosphere.
He and Ethan grew up together, and Ethan still considers him his best friend.
But that's all just the surface.
In fact, he was a vain person who enjoyed being praised and admired by others. The reason he became close to Ethan was because he wasn't an Awakened before, and being with Ethan allowed him to demonstrate his abilities.
Later, all of this would change, because the guy he always looked down on and thought himself superior was actually the most talented person in the academy, until Ethan eventually surpassed Lucas.
This led him to become jealous of Ethan's progress. In order to prove himself and surpass Ethan again, he eventually volunteered to become a villain, selling his soul to the devil and becoming the devil's puppet.
"Uh..." Just looking at his face reminds me of the devil, which makes me feel a little out of control.
There was another man sitting next to Lucas Middleton, a stark contrast in both appearance and demeanor. His short, jet-black hair was meticulously trimmed, giving him an air of rigor. His imposing physique spoke of strength and endurance, while his serious face seemed to bear the weight of a heavy responsibility.
'Karl Darian'
He presented a quiet and strong image. His gray eyes held a profound wisdom beyond his years, revealing a soul that had endured hardship. Unlike the cheerful laughter of his friends, Carl rarely smiled; his focus and seriousness set him apart.
After Lucas betrayed Ethan, he became Ethan's best friend in the future, and it was he who helped Ethan regain his trust in humanity and friends.
He was a paragon of chivalry, always steadfast in fulfilling his duties. Although his face wasn't as handsome as Ethan's, he exuded a safe and charming aura.
He also comes from a famous family of knights and, like Ethan, is a righteous person who enjoys helping others.
As I was observing their conversation, I suddenly sensed that many people's attention had shifted to another place.
There, I saw three beautiful girls appear.
