Chapter 415 Young People's Feelings
Chapter 415 Young People's Feelings
“Go after her,” the older sister said. “Explain things clearly. True feelings deserve a second chance.”
Raine struggled to his feet, his resolve stronger than ever despite the pain throughout his body.
Kaka quickly returned to the palace and arranged for people to investigate the series of events surrounding the attack.
Then she hid inside the house.
Lin Liu initially thought that Princess Kaka had encountered some trouble, which was why he had rushed over to her.
What I ended up meeting was a princess who was depressed because of relationship problems.
"You called me here just because of this? Aren't there any other difficulties?" Lin Liuyi asked, still unwilling to give up.
"How could he lie to me and not believe me? Although I am a princess, my power is all earned through my own efforts. How could he think it comes from this identity? And he even investigated me!" Kaka said angrily.
"Then arrest him and interrogate him." Since there wasn't anything seriously wrong, Lin Liuyi didn't mind adding fuel to the fire.
"How can that be? He's my friend!" Kaka refused without even thinking.
"Then wait for him to explain; maybe he has his reasons!"
"Does having a reason give you the right to lie to me? I even considered him a good friend!" Kaka was even angrier.
This won't work, that won't work, Lin Liuyi was speechless.
Can't you young people resolve your relationship problems yourselves?
Just then, a guard came to report that Raine was requesting an audience.
"I won't see you!" Kaka's first reaction was to refuse.
"Wait!" But as the guard was leaving, she remembered that Rein was still injured while saving her, so she called out to the guard again.
"Sister Liuyi, well, you're right. I need to hear how Ryan explains it, so I'll go check it out first!"
Kaka then ran off, embarrassed, to see Renn.
Lin Liuyi shook his head helplessly. These young people...
Kaka expected to see an anxiously waiting Renn, but instead found two rows of fully armed royal guards surrounding Renn. Their cards were activated and flashing with a dangerous light.
"What's going on?" Kaka instinctively stood in front of the weakened Rein.
Captain Ryan stepped forward, bowed, and replied, “Your Highness, by order of His Majesty the King and the Prime Minister, this gentleman,” his gaze sharpened as it fell on Ryan, “needs to be taken away for questioning.”
"Interrogation?" Kaka's voice rose eight octaves. "Raine is my assistant, and more importantly, he's the one who saved my life!"
“I’m sorry, Your Highness.” Ryan remained unmoved. “Lord Arti has reported that this attack was an elaborate conspiracy, and this civilian is likely an inside agent.”
Renn clenched and unclenched his fist: "Ridiculous! Derek was the attacker! He used a Tier 3 Ice Blade card stolen from the Royal Card Pool!"
"Where's the evidence?" a cold voice came from behind the guards.
The crowd parted, and Prime Minister Yati walked slowly forward, her long silver-gray hair neatly tied back, her eyes gleaming with shrewdness.
Kaka felt Rein's body tense up instantly.
The Prime Minister and Derek share a similar aquiline nose and thin lips, but the years have etched more calculating marks on his face.
“Your Excellency,” Kaka forced himself to remain calm, “I can vouch for Renn’s innocence. At the time…” She was with Renn.
“Your Highness has been frightened, and your memory may be confused,” Arti interrupted her gently but without restraint. “Moreover, your close relationship with this commoner may have affected your judgment.”
His gaze fell on their still tightly clasped hands.
His eyes clearly showed displeasure. How could Her Highness the Princess be so close to a commoner? That good-for-nothing Derek!
Kaka felt a surge of dissatisfaction; they had only been back for less than five minutes, yet the Prime Minister already knew about what had happened between her and Rein.
Lady Artie has gone too far!
“His Majesty has approved a full investigation into this attack,” Artie continued, her voice as smooth as silk yet sharp. “In the meantime, for His Highness’s safety, you will rest in your palace. And Mr. Rein will need to cooperate with the investigation.”
He made a gesture, and four guards immediately stepped forward and grabbed Ryan's arms.
Raine did not resist fiercely, but only gave Kaka a deep look, his eyes containing too many unspeakable things.
Kaka wanted to rush forward, but was politely but firmly stopped by Adi.
"Your Highness, this is His Majesty's order. Please do not obstruct our investigation. Escort the Princess back!"
Kaka was helpless; although she was the heir, she was not yet the queen.
She was semi-forcibly led away from the hall, and the last thing she saw was Renn's back as he was led in the opposite direction, and the faint smile on Prime Minister Arty's face.
Kaka had no choice but to rush to his father, crying out, "Father, Rein is innocent!"
"Kaka, you are a princess! You will be the heir to the kingdom!" the king interrupted her sternly.
Seeing Kaka's unpleasant expression, the king softened his tone and said, "The theft of the royal palace cards is no small matter. Rein was only there to assist in the investigation. I know you care about this commoner friend. If the investigation results are unrelated to him, he will naturally be released."
"But Lord Arti..."
"Don't worry, Artie won't do anything reckless. He just wants to bring you and Derek together," the king reassured his daughter.
"Hmph, I don't think so. Father, you don't know, it was Derek who stole the card, and he's the one who attacked me. Lord Arti is Derek's father, what if he protects him? Wouldn't Renn be in danger? Besides, Renn saved my life today! Oh no, he's still injured!"
Kaka became increasingly anxious.
"Really? You're not mistaken, it really was Derek who attacked you?"
“It’s him!” Kaka said confidently.
Upon hearing this, the king fell into deep thought. If what Kaka said was true, then Rein really was the scapegoat.
But why would Arti do this? After all, he was the king's closest friend, and he had always wanted to bring his son and the princess together. The king knew about this and was happy to see it happen.
Now Derek has stolen the royal cards to attack the princess, which doesn't seem normal at all.
Was it instigated by Artie? Or was it Derek's own dissatisfaction? The king was puzzled.
But Kaka is right. Regardless of whether Arti did it or not, Rein is now in a dangerous situation.
Thinking of this, the king immediately took Kaka to the interrogation room.
In the underground interrogation room, Renn was locked in a specially made chair that could suppress the flow of card energy.
Although he was just a commoner, Lord Arti clearly did not intend to take any risks.
