Chapter 3: We must bring them back!
Chapter 3: We must bring them back!
Su Mowan stood tall and straight, her moon-white men's clothing making her look heroic and dashing.
After escaping from the general's mansion, she wandered through the bustling streets, attracting frequent glances from passing girls.
After walking for about fifteen minutes, she turned into a dark alley.
Arriving at the third room, she cautiously looked around to make sure no one was watching before gently knocking on the door.
"Who is it?" A sweet and gentle voice came from inside the house.
“It’s me!” Su Mowan replied in a low voice.
A moment of silence fell over the room. Then, the door creaked open, revealing a stunningly beautiful face.
"Mo Wan? What brings you here? And why are you dressed like this?"
"Don't ask so many questions, let me hide for a while!" Without saying another word, Su Mowan slipped into the house.
Qingcheng obediently stepped aside to make way, and asked in confusion, "Isn't today your wedding day?"
Su Mowan sighed deeply, "Qingcheng, my marriage with Murong Jin is off..."
"What? But I heard that you and Su Huayue are getting married today!" Qingcheng was completely confused.
This was told to her personally by Prince Murong Xuan of Jin last night!
"That's right, she's going to get married, but not to the King of Chu, but to the King of Qin."
Su Mowan lowered her eyes. "Su Huayue will marry Prince Chu, Murong Jin, while I will marry Prince Qin, Murong Jing."
Qingcheng was stunned for a moment, then exclaimed in shock, "You're going to marry Prince Qin, Murong Jing?! Heavens, what's going on..."
"It's a long story, I can only hide here with you for now." Su Mowan forced a bitter smile.
Qingcheng hesitated for a moment, then said worriedly, "But Mo Wan, even if you escape today, what then? A man like the King of Qin wouldn't let you get away so easily! He won't let you go so readily!"
Su Mowan naturally knew this as well, and she sighed softly, "Yes, that's why I can't stay in this capital city any longer."
Qingcheng bit her lower lip, and after a long while, she finally spoke: "So, where do you plan to go?"
Su Mowan really hadn't decided yet.
"Perhaps I should venture into the northern frontier, or travel to the south of the Yangtze River, or perhaps... go to the Kingdom of Liuxia."
Upon hearing this, Qingcheng, disregarding the fact that she had not yet washed and dressed, quickly lit the candle in the dark.
She brought over a clean chair and gestured for Su Mowan to sit down.
After Su Mowan was seated, Qingcheng spoke up to advise, "The northern frontier is a harsh and cold place; you'd better not go. Jiangnan is nice, but the Qin King's army is stationed there. As for Liuxia… that place isn't peaceful either."
A shadow crossed Qingcheng's eyes when Liuxia was mentioned.
Su Mowan considerately pretended not to see it.
He said calmly, "Anyway, I'll leave after tonight and won't implicate you."

Meanwhile, at the Qin King's Mansion.
Feng Yue, the commander of the guards, dressed in black, stood trembling outside the study door, cold sweat beading on his forehead.
A deep, cold voice echoed from the study, carrying an undeniable air of authority: "What did you just say?"
"Your Highness, this morning I heard that the Second Miss of the General's Mansion has gone missing, and General Su has sent men to search the entire city!" Feng Yue mustered his courage and repeated.
Just as Feng Yue was wiping away cold sweat for the third time, the half-closed door to the study slowly opened.
A handsome man in a wheelchair appeared at the door.
His narrow phoenix eyes exuded an aura of dominance over the world, and his jade-like face was so fair that he seemed otherworldly.
Although his handsome face was expressionless, it involuntarily instilled fear in people.
The man exuded a chilling aura, and beneath his elaborate black brocade robe, a pair of snow-white, gold-embroidered boots were visible, spotless.
He is none other than the renowned War God Prince of Yunmo Kingdom, Prince Murong Jing of Qin.
"Your Highness..."
Feng Yue was in a state of turmoil. The fact that his prospective concubine had left without saying goodbye was truly...undignified.
Murong Jing spoke expressionlessly: "Order Chaoyang to close the city gates immediately. You will personally lead thirty guards out of the city to search and bring the person back."
Bring them back?
After all, she is a future concubine. Is Your Highness's choice of words inappropriate?
Feng Yue dared not say more, and could only respectfully accept the order and hurriedly retreat to make arrangements.
