Chapter 151 Unfamiliar Environment.
Chapter 151 Unfamiliar Environment.
Jun Luochuan and Su Yao ventured deeper into that mysterious and unpredictable realm, like two small beasts wandering into an unknown labyrinth. The surrounding environment resembled a bizarre and strange painting, growing increasingly unfamiliar and chilling.
Before me stretched a vast, deep, and dense forest. The trees stood tall, like colossal giants reaching for the heavens, their sharp tips seemingly piercing the high, boundless sky. Sunlight, like a timid visitor, struggled to filter through the layers of interwoven branches and leaves, casting dappled, golden shadows on the ground. The ground was covered with a thick carpet of fallen leaves, like memories accumulated over the years. With each step, a rustling sound filled the air, like ancient spirits whispering secrets sealed away by time.
Su Yao's eyes widened, her pupils like two bright gems, curiously looking around as if trying to take in everything that was mysterious. "Jun Luochuan, I've never seen this place before. It feels like a mysterious corner forgotten by time, full of unknown allure and mystery."
Jun Luochuan's face was serious, his expression like that of a solemn statue, cautiously observing every move around him, not missing a single subtle sound. "Be careful. This unfamiliar environment is like a giant beast lurking in the darkness. It might open its blood-red maw and reveal its ferocious fangs at some unexpected moment, hiding dangers we can't predict."
They continued their slow journey when suddenly, a strange cry, like the weeping of a ghost, came from the bottomless abyss of darkness. The sound was eerie and terrifying, as if it could penetrate one's soul and send chills down one's spine.
Su Yao trembled with fright, like a startled fawn, gripping Jun Luochuan's strong arm tightly, her fingers turning white from tension. "What was that sound? My heart was pounding in my chest, I'm scared."
Jun Luochuan frowned, the lines of his brows resembling two deep canyons, and comforted him, "Don't be afraid, perhaps it's just some kind of wild beast hidden in this deep forest asserting its territorial sovereignty."
Before the words were even finished, a huge bird, like a bomber, swooped overhead. The wind whipped up by its flapping wings howled like a raging storm.
Su Yao couldn't help but exclaim, "Wow, what a huge bird! Its wings are like dark clouds that blot out the sky!"
Jun Luochuan glanced up quickly, his gaze grave. "This bird is no ordinary creature; it seems to harbor hidden dangers. We must carefully avoid it to prevent unnecessary trouble."
They quickened their pace and hurried into a narrow, cramped valley. The mountain peaks on both sides of the valley soared into the clouds, and the steep cliffs looked as if they had been sculpted by a god with a sharp, giant axe, straight and precipitous.
"This valley seems to be a dark passage with no end. Will we get lost here like headless flies?" Su Yao said worriedly, her voice trembling slightly, like a candle flame flickering in the wind.
Jun Luochuan snorted, his voice echoing like muffled thunder in the valley. "With me here, even in a maze, I can lead you to the exit and prevent you from getting lost."
Just then, a thick fog suddenly rolled into the valley, engulfing them like a surging tide. Their vision blurred, as if the whole world was shrouded in a thick white veil.
Su Yao panicked, her voice becoming hurried. "This fog came so suddenly, like an invisible net trapping us here. What do we do?"
Jun Luochuan stopped and pondered for a moment before saying, "Let's stay put for now. This fog came strangely and will leave suddenly. Let's wait for it to dissipate on its own before we go, so as not to go astray."
Time passed second by second, but the thick fog showed no sign of dissipating; on the contrary, it grew even thicker, as if it would imprison them forever in this small space.
Su Yao couldn't help but complain, her complaints sounding like ants scurrying anxiously on a hot pan. "How long are we going to have to wait? Are we going to be stuck here forever?"
Jun Luochuan remained silent, but his mind was racing, like a machine at high speed, rapidly calculating a countermeasure.
After what seemed like an eternity, the thick fog finally dissipated like the receding tide, allowing them to continue their journey.
As we walked, a lake as calm as a mirror came into view. The water was crystal clear, yet its stillness was unsettling, like a sleeping magic mirror.
Su Yao picked up a stone and threw it forcefully into the lake, but it didn't create a single ripple; the surface of the lake was like solidified jelly. "This lake is so strange, it's like it's been enchanted."
Jun Luochuan gazed at the lake, his eyes deep and focused, lost in thought, as if trying to see through the calm surface to the secrets hidden beneath...
