With everyone pressuring the father and son duo, it did not take long for them to bend their backs. It wasn't as if they were scared of Yu Dong but Lin Zhe and Ji Jiangang were truly scared of Li Wan breaking their relationship.
When Li Wan told them that she was going to break off all contact with them, the two thought that she was joking but soon they found out that she was not joking at all!
After they arrived at the Li house, Li Wan started living in another courtyard which was far from the one where they were living. The two of them tried to reach out to Li Wan but the latter simply ignored them as if they had nothing to do with her.
Li Zhe and Ji Jiangang panicked when they saw that Li Wan was really sticking to her words. In the end, they could only ask Old Master Li to relay the words that they were willing to apologize, only then did Li Wan meet with them.
"Sister, you are truly heartless," Li Zhe agreed to apologize to that mer and commoner woman but he wasn't willing to do such a thing in his heart. He was only doing it because his sister left him no choice!
If he did not apologize then he would be abandoned by his sister. Without his sister's backing, how could he act like a tyrant in the Ji house?
"If I was heartless I would have broken off our relationship ages ago and never looked back," sneered Li Wan. "Do you think that I will not find out about the things that you have done using my name?"
Li Zhe lowered his head and did not speak anymore. He calmly watched the scenery as the carriage drove past the entrance of the village. However, as soon as the carriage entered the village, Li Zhe couldn't help but gasp when he saw flourishing greenery and the crops that were fluttering in the wind.
The entire country was going through a drought and yet it doesn't seem like the Big River Village was facing the same condition as the rest of the country.@@@@
"Sister this.... How is this possible?" Li Zhe turned to look at Li Wan who sneered and remarked, "Now do you understand why I asked you to apologise? Madam Yu not only has a clear vision but she is also wise and farsighted. Having a good relationship with her will only help us."
Soon the door of the Yu family house opened and Mammy Shu who went inside the house returned. She was slightly panting as she apologized to Li Wan, "I am sorry. Madam Yu was in the fields and I had to rush from the back door to call for her."
Li Wan smiled at Mammy Shu and did not say anything. Her martial arts were not bad and her five senses were sensitive enough to know that the woman actually ran around the courtyard for a while before coming to open the door.
But she understood Yu Dong's anger and did not show any signs of disdain on her face.
"It is alright. Is Madam Yu willing to see us now?" Li Wan asked Mammy Shu who nodded and stepped aside for the three people to walk past her.
Li Wan sighed in relief as long as Yu Dong was willing to see her, it meant that she still had some hope of reconciling. However, as soon as she entered the house, she turned to look at her brother and nephew.
She said to them, "You better be on your best behaviour. Don't do anything that would make Madam Yu any more unhappier than she already is." Li Wan didn't want these two to do anything to offend Yu Dong.
