Chapter 699 Infiltration and Probing
Chapter 699 Infiltration and Probing
The moment the elevator doors opened, two men dressed in office building staff uniforms walked in, chatting and laughing. They were plainclothes police officers sent by the "Overlord Flower" (a term referring to a group of police officers sent by the police).
As they brushed past each other, a hint of wariness flashed in Han Ren's eyes, and he slightly tightened his fingers. Meanwhile, the two plainclothes officers silently observed him, quietly noting his clothing and build. Without making any move, they continued chatting and laughing as they pressed the button for the top floor.
The elevator doors slowly closed. Han Ren's gaze fell on the elevator's security camera, a strange smile playing on his lips. He turned and walked towards the office building's exit. As soon as he stepped out of the office building, he deliberately headed towards the main entrance of the convention center, slowing his pace and stopping every now and then, pretending to take pictures while secretly observing the police's movements.
"Officer Ye, the target has moved and is heading towards the main entrance of the convention center. He is wearing a gray trench coat, a baseball cap, and a mask. He is of medium build and has not been seen carrying any obvious weapons. Two plainclothes officers are following behind him and have not been detected at all."
The voice of the female tyrant was transmitted to Ye Haoxuan's walkie-talkie in time.
Ye Haoxuan was driving to the convention center at the time. Upon hearing the report, he immediately responded:
"Continue to track him closely and monitor his every move. Do not let him approach the main entrance of the convention center. If he makes any unusual moves, take him into custody immediately. But remember, leave him alive. I want to interrogate him personally to find out the hiding places of the other assassins and the details of the attack plan. Also, notify the plainclothes officers in the vicinity to be prepared for support in case he has accomplices."
"Understood, Officer Ye!"
Han Ren was about fifty meters from the main entrance of the convention center when two plainclothes police officers quietly stopped him. Disguised as security personnel, they spoke to Han Ren with serious expressions:
"Sir, security at the convention center has recently been upgraded. Unauthorized personnel are prohibited from loitering here. Please leave as soon as possible."
Han Ren raised his head, his gaze sweeping coldly over the two plainclothes officers, his tone flat:
"I'm just passing by, taking a few photos, and I'll be leaving right away." As he spoke, he deliberately raised his phone and took another photo in the direction of the convention center, while secretly pressing a button on the phone—a signal transmitter used to notify other lurking assassins that the police's perimeter had been extended to within fifty meters of the convention center.
The two plainclothes officers exchanged a glance, maintaining their serious expressions and firm tone:
"Sir, I'm sorry, taking photos is prohibited here. Please delete the photos and leave immediately, otherwise we will take enforcement action."
A ruthless glint flashed in Han Ren's eyes, but he didn't act on it—he knew now was not the time to expose himself. The purpose of the test had been achieved, and continuing the stalemate would only put him on the defensive. He slowly put down his phone, pretending to delete the photos, then turned and walked towards the office building. His pace remained unhurried, seemingly compliant, but in reality, he was still vigilantly scanning his surroundings, observing the police deployment.
"Officer Ye, the target has left the cordon and is heading towards the office building. He seems to have pressed some kind of signal transmitter just now, possibly sending a message to his accomplices. Should we continue to follow him?"
Ye Haoxuan's car had just arrived near the convention center when he heard the report and immediately responded:
"Continue to track him, maintain a safe distance, and don't let him spot you. Find out his whereabouts and see if he has any accomplices to meet him. Also, how's the surveillance footage going with the technical department? Have they identified him?"
"The technical department just reported that his identity has not yet been confirmed. His baseball cap and mask covered his face very well, and the surveillance cameras could not capture his facial features. There is also no matching information for him in the office building's entry and exit records. He is suspected of using a false identity to enter the office building."
A cold glint flashed in Ye Haoxuan's eyes, and his tone was firm: "Continue to follow him. Even if he's using a false identity, he'll definitely leave some clues. Also, notify Sasaki Miho and have her contact the Southeast Asian police. Based on the clothing and physical characteristics we provided, investigate the Shadow Organization's assassins, focusing on the assassin codenamed 'Cold Blade'—I suspect that this person is one of the Shadow Organization's top assassins."
"Understood, Officer Ye!"
After hanging up the walkie-talkie, Ye Haoxuan opened the car door and looked towards the convention center, his eyes sharp as an eagle's.
The sunlight was blinding, but it couldn't penetrate the solemnity in his eyes. The probing of the cold blade indicated that all the assassins from the Shadow Organization had already infiltrated their positions. They were secretly observing the police deployment, waiting for the best opportunity to attack three days later.
Meanwhile, in the underground parking lot of the office building, Han Ren had already gotten into a black car without license plates. Inside the car was another man wearing a black coat, who was his accomplice and also an assassin from the Shadow Organization, codenamed "Scorpion".
"Well, Cold Blade, have you tested it out?" Poison Scorpion asked in a low, urgent voice.
Han Ren leaned back in his chair, removed his baseball cap and mask, revealing a cold and ferocious face with a long scar running from his forehead to his jaw. His eyes were filled with ruthlessness.
"Understood. The police's perimeter has been extended to within 50 meters of the convention center. Their response was quick and their deployment was very tight. There are at least 20 plainclothes officers around the area. Moreover, they seem to have already realized our identities. The two people who stopped me earlier were definitely not ordinary security personnel."
"So what do we do now? Should we change our hiding place?" Scorpion asked.
“No need.” Han Ren shook his head, his tone icy. “I’ve already signaled to the other accomplices to adjust their hiding places, avoid the police’s perimeter, and lie in wait in the office buildings and shops around the convention center. Also, I suspect that Ye Haoxuan has already arrived around the convention center. Our focus now is to find out his whereabouts and eliminate him when the opportunity arises, clearing the way for the attack plan three days from now.”
The scorpion nodded, his eyes filled with ruthlessness:
"Okay, I'll do as you say. As long as we can get rid of Ye Haoxuan, it's worth any price!"
The black sedan slowly drove out of the underground parking lot, merged into the traffic, and disappeared at the end of the street, as if it had never existed.
Not far away, plainclothes police officers sent by the "Overlord Flower" were driving an ordinary car, following closely behind them and keeping a close eye on their movements.
Ye Haoxuan stood by the roadside, gazing in the direction where the black sedan had disappeared, his fists clenched, his eyes filled with determination.
He knew that Cold Blade's probing was just the beginning. Over the next two days, the Shadow Organization's assassins would continue to probe the police's deployment and might even launch small-scale raids to try and disrupt their rhythm.
