Chapter 245 Little Scissors
Chapter 245 Little Scissors
Ji Yangyang didn't particularly like astronomy, but she didn't hate it either.
Qiao Yingzi was watching intently, while he and Song Qian were exchanging glances beside him. Afraid that Qiao Yingzi would notice, Song Qian blushed and came to Qiao Yingzi's side, stopping her from fooling around with Ji Yangyang.
Qiao Yingzi was intently observing the cut surface of a meteorite.
Song Qian also pretended to look at the meteorite and stood with Qiao Yingzi.
Neither of them could have noticed that a heavy chandelier above them had a deep crack in its fixed position, threatening to fall at any moment.
Qiao Yingzi straightened up and pointed to the meteorite's structure to explain it to Song Qian. She looked very happy; she had finally seen the real thing!
At that moment, the chandelier finally fell down!
Ji Yangyang noticed something was wrong, suddenly accelerated, ran two steps, rushed over, and tackled the mother and daughter to the ground!
"Boom!"
With a muffled thud, the chandelier fell to the ground!
In the hazy space, Xiao Meiji quietly put down her small scissors. "Brother Jun, here's a little opportunity for you, you're welcome!" Then she looked at a small screen next to her, where an eighteen-year-old boy was wreaking havoc. "Ji Yangyang himself, your newbie protection period is about to end. Have a good time in Douluo Continent!" The small screen then slowly shrank and disappeared.
Song Qian and Qiao Yingzi, who were pinned down, were both shocked and only slowly realized what had happened after hearing the loud noise.
"Yangyang, are you alright?"
"Ji Yangyang, how are you?"
Song Qian and Qiao Yingzi were so frightened that they forgot what they were supposed to do and were just pinned down like that.
"I'm fine." After a while, Ji Yangyang got up first, and extended a hand to each of the mother and daughter, helping them up.
After the three of them got up, they went to check the chandelier, which happened to be right where the two of them were standing!
Without Ji Yangyang, the two of them probably wouldn't have been able to return to the capital.
Song Qian then noticed that Ji Yangyang and Qiao Yingzi were still holding on!
In her anxiety, she clenched her fist tightly, only to realize that she hadn't let go of Ji Yangyang's hand either!
Thankfully, it was all internal monologue.
Song Qian pulled her hand away from Ji Yangyang's large hand.
Ji Yangyang looked at Song Qian, who then gave him a wink, signaling him to let go of Qiao Yingzi.
Ji Yangyang smiled at Song Qian and then let go of Qiao Yingzi's hand.
Qiao Yingzi knew she was being held hand in hand, but she was reluctant to let go, keeping her head down and looking at the chandelier, pretending not to notice. Now that her hand had been released, Qiao Yingzi suddenly felt empty. She walked to Song Qian's side, took Song Qian's hand, and finally regained a sense of security.
At this moment, museum staff came over, apologized to the three of them, and promised to compensate them for their emotional distress, hoping to gain their forgiveness.
Song Qian didn't ask for compensation; she just hoped that the museum could improve its maintenance to prevent similar accidents from happening again.
Having lost interest in exploring further, the three left the museum.
"Shall we go back?" Qiao Yingzi glanced at the sky; the sun was setting, and it was almost dusk.
Ji Yangyang looked at the two women and smiled slightly, "Wait a minute, I'll make a phone call."
Song Qian didn't hear the contents of the phone call; she only heard Ji Yangyang call the person on the other end "Professor Yang."
After making the call, the three of them waited nearby, and a Great Wall car drove up a few minutes later.
A middle-aged woman, around fifty years old, got out of the car, walked over, and shook hands with Ji Yangyang. "Mr. Ji! Seeing you in person is truly an honor; you are so accomplished at such a young age!"
Ji Yangyang also shook the aunt's hand a few times enthusiastically, "Professor Yang, you flatter me. It's just a small achievement."
"Then let's set off, it's almost time." Professor Yang smiled at the two women and invited the three of them into the car.
Song Qian and Qiao Yingzi were completely confused, unsure of Ji Yangyang's intentions. However, trusting Ji Yangyang, the mother and daughter still got into the back seat.
The car traveled through the mountains and forests; the roads were very narrow, making it difficult for other vehicles to pass each other.
The car finally stopped in front of a courtyard. After getting out of the car, Qiao Yingzi was stunned!
Before her was a hemispherical building, and the movable dome confirmed Qiao Yingzi's suspicions.
"Astronomical telescope! This is an astronomical observatory!"
Ji Yangyang explained with a smile, "This is the astronomical observatory of Yingtianfu University, not the kind of science and education version that is open to the public. This is a telescope that is in use."
Professor Yang turned to look at the three of them and said, "You've come at a good time. It's been more than ten days since the weather cleared up, and you only started your first observation mission yesterday."
After walking inside, Professor Yang greeted a few students and then sat down at his workstation.
"Qiao Yingzi, right? I heard you like astronomy. Do you recognize these instruments?"
Qiao Yingzi nodded. "I've heard of it. This should be a 22-centimeter CCD refracting telescope."
Professor Yang nodded in satisfaction. "Not bad, it seems you know about these things. We have an observation mission on the Uming crater on the moon today. You can take a look around. If you have any questions, we can answer them together afterward."
Qiao Yingzi nodded excitedly and turned to give Ji Yangyang a bright smile.
Ji Yangyang explained to Song Qian, "Professor Yang Qiulian is a renowned professor in the Department of Astronomy at Yingtianfu University. She has published several important papers in China, which I have read and found to be very well written."
Song Qian glanced at Ji Yangyang, "Can you understand it?"
"Sister Qian, you still don't understand me." Ji Yangyang held Song Qian's hand.
Song Qian racked her brains a few times, realizing that the two's clasped hands were in a blind spot of the surveillance cameras, and the people at the workstations couldn't see them either, so she let Ji Yangyang hold her hand.
Professor Yang Qiulian's research is quite renowned in the field, and it will only become more famous in the future. She's only here today to mentor some students; Ji Yangyang was able to contact her because she provided her with ideas—a direction for her research ten years from now.
Back at the hotel, Song Qian told Qiao Yingzi that she was going downstairs to exercise and told Qiao Yingzi to stay in the room by herself and not to open the door for anyone.
Then Song Qian knocked on Ji Yangyang's door.
Ji Yangyang opened the door and pulled Song Qian inside. Song Qian closed the door behind her and threw herself into Ji Yangyang's arms.
"Yangyang, I want you!"
Ji Yangyang was pushed backward repeatedly until she was finally pushed onto the bed. "Sister Qian, you..."
Song Qian covered Ji Yangyang's mouth with a kiss, and seventeen seconds later, she said, "Yangyang, I said I'm going to exercise, it'll only be for a short time!"
Ji Yangyang didn't move because he heard Qiao Yingzi walk to the door, "Ding-dong! Ding-dong!"
Song Qian's hand froze, and she looked at Ji Yangyang in shock.
Ji Yangyang whispered, "It's not what you think. Let's hide in the closet first!"
Song Qian nodded without saying anything, put her clothes back on after she had only taken them off halfway, went into the closet, and closed the closet door.
Seeing that Song Qian had hidden herself, Ji Yangyang slowly opened the door.
Qiao Yingzi walked in and looked around curiously for a while.
Qiao Yingzi plopped down on the bed, as if she had sat right on Song Qian's heart. Song Qian really wanted to go out and teach Qiao Yingzi a lesson; not just any bed is safe to sit on.
"Yangyang, thank you for today!"
Qiao Yingzi has changed how she addresses Ji Yangyang.
Ji Yangyang sat on the small sofa, which was the furthest away from Qiao Yingzi, and Song Qian could also see her from there.
"Thank me for what?"
